MERGING GRID Double Beam Jacquard Woven, 2019. Wool, rayon, nylon. Designed and woven for Material Technology and Logistics as a showpiece for their 2019 Proposte presentation in Cernobbio, Italy. A custom planted, full width, double beam warp using 24 colors and experimenting with multiple sizes of yarns in the warp and weft. A subtle, multi-directional ombre spans the ten foot vertical repeat in the weft, and the four foot horizontal repeat in the warp. This is overlaid by a bold, multicolor abstracted weave graphic. Structural weave changes add physical depth.

OVERDYED Jacquard Velvets, 2019. Linen, rayon, and cotton pile on a cotton/polyester base. A piece from a group of cut and loop velvet explorations meant to mimic the look of overdyed carpets. They use custom, planted bobbin layouts (shown here), multiple yarn types, and three mixing frames to create richly varied but subtle surfaces that read as solids from afar. The organic variations in color contrast with precise carved out linework. New weaves were explored to achieve three distinct pile heights. Woven for Material Technology and Logistics.
